It sounds like you have parental control settings set up on your Battle.net account, Rogahunter. That, or you did not accept the agreement to let friends see you, when starting up SCII. Either way you should be able to set up Parental Control to not restrict you from adding Real Life friends. You may want to try setting up the Parental Controls and enabling the feature there, Rogahunter. I know that is a fairly quick work around for the issue you seem to be experiencing.
