The amount of Poor information, misinformation, random slanderous bantering and in general swear words flying around in /2 is pretty absurd. Not only do we range from hate speech towards blacks but various other four letter words and various acii art diagrams.

It does not seem possible to get people banned by reporting them.

My home server of Dalaran has had one troll who sits in /2 13 hours per day creating new level 1 alts as people put him on ignore spamming the channel with various vomitous garbage which then spreads to other young players and infects them.

How about fixing this?

Q u o t e:
It does not seem possible to get people banned by reporting them.

Have you reported these incidents from another account, Plah? Though I am unable to comment on the outcome regarding any previous reports you may have made I do try and confirm that such reports were made and that they were addressed appropriately. In some cases I have found that the person reporting neglected to include enough information so I try to give advice when I can.

If you can give me the name and realm of a character on the account that submitted those reports I would be happy to check it out.

Behavior in a chat channel is usually controlled by those who inhabit the realm as they can report any behavior that they find undesirable. If you view chat that would be considered spam (i.e. the same or similar messages entered into a chat channel over a short period of time) please use the Report Spam feature. For all other violations, such as inappropriate language and subject matter please submit an in-game petition with the name of the person, the approximate time of the violation and if you are able to, a sample of the chat that you believe violates our policies.

On some realms where this may not have been reported consistently it may take a little while for noticeable results. I would recommend starting with the worse offenses and then move on from there. Hopefully they will learn their lesson and cease such activity. Our goal is to educate our players on what is permitted within the game, not simply ban the account. The way this system works is outlined in the support article listed below.

The key is truly in being consistent. A great deal of damage is caused by someone simply shouting that they are reporting, if they never do. That gives the perception to the person "reported" that the matter was reviewed and it was decided that the behavior was fine. It also gives others the perception that the report didn't do anything either so they figure, why report themselves?

Please report the violations that you see, use the tools that are provided, appropriate actions will be taken.
