Both my friends were scammed =(

My friend "Stonefury" on torthreldrin, at about 1:35 AM server time, pass leader of a 2v2 team to "Rogueums". He was, after passing lead, going to pay "Immortalmage", the previous owner of the team, 300g. As soon as leader was passed, he logged off. It's been a decent amount of time (so no passing alts gold over or banks gold over), and as I'm the only one who can post, its up to me to ask, "What can be done?"

Thanks.

Not entirely sure what you are asking here, Cassy.

Your friend sold a team? That's really not a supported transaction.

Also, whenever anyone has an issue - the person directly affected needs to be the one to inquire.

You are confusing illicit - with non-supported.

Illicit would be rule-breaking.

Non-supported means at your own risk.

If it's a transaction done outside of a trade-window, it may not be supported. The trade-window is a mechanic that helps protect against fraud.

I wouldn't recommend it.

Also, it doesn't prevent the affected player from reporting it as a scam - but that doesn't mean they'll necessarily have their money returned.

We do look into scam reports, but it's not a given that funds/items are necessarily returned/redistributed.

You don't know there won't be consequences for them.

Consequences for them doesn't = money being returned to you, and you won't be told of any account actions on another account.

For much the way we can't be loan enforcers, Cassy.

"I loaned X 1,000g and he said he'd repay me in 3 months, he hasn't HELP!"

We can enforce loans either, they are an at-risk transaction.

Anything done outside of a trade-window should be considered a high-risk transaction as you don't have the natural protection that was built-into the game.

I'm sorry you don't seem to understand how we cannot enforce every single player agreement ever made ingame amongst 12 million players.

Scams are a different story and will be investigated. The outcome is not necessarily return/redistribution of items or gold, however. That doesn't mean there may not be consequences to the scammer.
