Hunter problem

Hello, I recently changed my spec from Beast Mastery to Survival Hunter. I tried to tame a new pet and a message pops up saying I already control a pet. When I call for amy pet it says unable to control excotic creatures. I have no pets in my inventory. Does anybody know how to correct this problem(I have a ticket in,but who knows how long it will take). Thanks in advance.

Either of these should work, yes.

You cannot control an exotic unless you have sufficient skill in Beast Mastery, so if your current pet is an exotic - this can indeed happen.
