Harassment Questions

Hi, CSF, first thanks for all the hard work you do.

Now, I have a RL friend who got sexually harassed, and was removed from the guild we were in when she brought the issue to the guild officers. The harassment was primarily on the guild forum, in vent, and through pornographic pictures drawn with the AVR mod (when it was still viable). The only thing that was harassing within the game environment itself was repeated use of various words for female genitalia in raid and guild chat.

My question is: Is there anything that can be done to punish these idiots? I left the guild and we both have the main culprits on ignore. Also, are there any other steps that we can take?

Thanks for your time.

Q u o t e:
Blizzard can't do anything about what's said on vent or in your guild's private forums. However, your friend may choose to contact the local authorities to discuss the matter.

As far as in-game situations, your friend will want to submit petitions on the matter, giving as much detail as possible (when, where, what was said, by whom). A GM will research it and take appropriate action.

While we will be unable to intervene when it comes to your vent chat or any other methods of communication outside of Blizzard owned property, Orianthi, we would most certainly take action on any violations of policy done within the forums or within the confines of our game. Simply report the violations to the Game Master staff, via the in-game petition system or by sending an e-mail to [email protected].
