Dear blizzard,

My friend who has been playing this game for over 5 years now got his account hacked and they placed parental controls on it. now when he called you guys you said there was nothing you could do? unless he did a long process to show he wasn't a minor.

Now my question for you is why didn't you guys just check the last name of the email locking him out and the last name of the account? not only did you make it hard for him to get his account backed you annoyed him to the point were he just said "screw it". So you chose to lose a long time member of your community because you couldn't just check the parental control email last name to my friends last name and even read that he was 19

Thank you for reading this if you have any other way of getting his account back to him then just here fill out these papers and send in a photo copy of your i.d please response.

Sincerely
-jakesonyou

It is not such a long process. It requires a form to be filled out and a copy of a valid ID to be sent in. If he is 19 he should already have an ID as is usually required in order to function as an adult. :)

I'm sorry but that is virtually irrelevant. Parents and Legal Guardians do not always have the same last name as their ward. Nor is a name listed on an e-mail address guaranteed to be accurate.

Unfortunately the removal or changing of Parental Controls is intended to be difficult to do unless you have verified your identify.

Again, the name is not relevant. Nor is the alleged age of the person you are referring to. Many adults use the Parental Control option as an extra layer of protection or for us when a minor child that they are the parent or guardian of accesses the account.

Whomever set the Parental Controls on the account had enough information to log in, which would be the major concern. Hopefully your friend has checked his account and computer security.

I'm afraid not, Jakesonyou, your friend will need to verify the appropriate information so our Billing staff can help him regain access to the account.

Good luck.

You mean your friend. :)

I'm sorry if you felt that I just listed information that you already knew, I'm not certain why you were asking the question if you already knew the answer though.
