Faction change question.

For the faction change, do I have to log out of my account all together, or just the toon while this is happening?

Just wanted to be 100% sure so I don't slow anything down..

Well, you definitely don't want to be on the character involved in any transfer.

You wouldn't necessarily need to be logged totally out of the account, but it certainly can't hurt.
