NA/EU accounts and billing

Hello!
My question might seem a bit odd, but ah well.
A friend of mine is currently in Europe and probably won't be back in NA for a little over a year. The thing is that we'd like to play WoW together and I was going to buy him a digital copy... until I realized that I have no idea which one I should be getting! I was just going to buy the NA one, but then he'll have a EU address + credit card for a while. Would that still work? I'm not sure if the address HAS to match the regional copy of the game. And obviously, if I buy EU, we'll run into a problem once he's back here. Does it make any difference which client he gets? Can you have a EU address+credit card on an NA client?

Thanks!
EDIT>> Didn't want to bump the thread so I'll say it here, thanks for everyone! =] I'll go grab him a NA copy.

The address does not need to match the regional copy of the game, Katrana, as Tandaa said you may play from nearly anywhere. Latency may be a bit of an issue if your friend is playing from Europe but otherwise he should be able to play the North America version with you.

The contact address can be a EU one, just make sure he keeps his account information up to date while he is over there and when he comes back.

He'll need the NA version of the game so your idea is a good one.
