Proof of new hacks

I have a screen shot that id gladly send to blizz showing several dead, flying lvl 1 toons in sw spelling out the words " no hack".

I belive this is a clear statment reguarding the issue that infact hackers are dveloping new ways to obtain critical information about players in the game, and should put to rest the notion that all hacks are due to player error.

if in fact a core hound pup is the only full proof tool that scares off hackers, then blizz should be suplying every player with one in light of this new discovery.

i have a core hound pup.. but i was hacked in the past. Never really agreed with the idea that the hacks were due to my own mistakes.. simply because my computer never had a keylogger on it.. nor any other software. and this was varified my many professionals that inspected my computer on several occasions.

again, i can email the pic.. thanks again

Those don't typically last very long, we do sweep for them.

And one has absolutely nothing to do with the other. There is no way, short of you giving them your information, they can get that ingame.

One has absolutely NOTHING to do with the other, Miah.

The body spam is usually done by trial accounts, sometimes stolen accounts - but none of that has a thing to do with GETTING compromised.....just some of the things that may happen AFTER a compromise.

And to date - the security breach has ALWAYS been on the players side - somewhere, somehow.

Q u o t e:

im not saying thay can or cant get someones info from in game.. different convo completly. im just making a simple point. require core hound pups ftw. because the user is the one getting attacked. sometimes the user gets made out to be the attacker.. thats not the case.

That would be a post for the Suggestion Forum.

And although we are usually forgiving when it's clear a player was compromised you ARE responsible to keep your information secure and responsible for what may be done with an account if you don't.

frankly, i think thats just obnoxius statment. its a technicality that used to side step the problem. someone is paid lots of money from wow hacking. bliz could minimize it with a few adjustments. why that dosnt happen, ill leave to the common sence of the ppl who read this post to figure out. but its aparently clear that the statment " the user is responcible" serves only 1 pupose. that is, it shuts down the discussion. it surly dosnt solve the problem. Id like to see the problem adressed rather then shut down at any mention.

And we did address it, well over a year ago. We developed the authenticator to help people add more security to what they SHOULD already be doing.

We write articles and post messages of the day warning of such things by way of education.

What we cannot do is assign a personal Game Master to sit beside you at your computer and tell you not to click links, respond to emails, go to fake websites or avoid 1001 other ways these thieves trick players out of their information :)

Again, if you have any better suggestions on what could be done there, the Suggestion Forum is the place to air those.

The player is responsible because it's on the player's end that this information escapes. No one HERE can see your password. That's why we'll never ask for it - it's useless to us even as verification because WE cannot access it.
