My account has been "permanently disabled"

I have no idea how this happened. I haven't even played the game in months, maybe 4 or 5 months because I've been busy. I've got a little free time and decide I want to reactivate my account and play some more only to get this message: "This account has been permanently disabled. For more information please contact [email protected]."

I've sent an email to that address, and have received no response. It's already been six days. I've noticed I've been getting a lot of phishing attempts in my inbox lately(while my account has been frozen), and I've ignored them all. I used to never get any emails from blizzard, so I knew they were fake. My problem is.. how did my account get disabled when I HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN ON IT IN MONTHS. I don't know how this could have happened. I don't want to lose years of progress on this game, because of reasons unknown. Seriously, what is going on?

Oh, and yes, I check my junk email daily. And, I've received the automated "we got your email" email.

I had to make a trial account to even use these forums... being disabled and all.

EDIT: Oh, and I forgot to ask. Is there some number I can call about this for support? Blizzard seems very cryptic about their phone numbers. It'd probably be quicker to just get someone on the phone and explain to them what is happening.

Our Account Administration can only be reached via text communication, Lawfer, so there is no hidden number that you are missing out on to get in contact with them. :0P

As for your account being banned, Sometimes an account that is compromised will be used for malicious activities. In such a case, an account may be actioned, banned or locked for activities that take place during the compromise. If this occurred with your account, then the appropriate recourse is-as you have already done- to contact our Account Administration department as soon as possible.

If you have received the automated reply stating that your e-mail was delivered then, as the auto reply mentioned, we have received your e-mail and it is simply a matter of time before we get your account returned to you.

Yes, by compromised I mean that someone accessed your account without your permission; or put simply hacked, as you said. We see accounts that become compromised and are then used during prolonged periods of inactivity. It’s a perfect cover, really, as you are not likely to notice the activity and stop their attempts. While we do have systems in place to help remove such threats, it does occur. A

s for the how, that is not something I am going to be able to tell you with any sort of certainty. It may have been from logging in when on a computer that was not secure-potentially had a keylogger-or by a number of other means. I would suggest that you read through the following sticky to get more information on account security, though, Lawfer: (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=24702231244&sid=1).

While I am not able to guarantee your account restoration, I can tell you that we have a high return in situations like these. It may take some time, but chances are good that we will be able to return your account to you, and may even be able to get it back to the state it was in prior to it falling into the hands of the ones that compromised it. :0)
