Requested name change.

I log on tonight hoping to play when suddenly, I get requested to change my name on the character select screen. I've been playing this guy up until lvl 64 and NOW there's a problem with my name?!

I even did a search on Armory and I see there's over 50 people with this exact same name and spelling. Why is it that I have to change my name when there's others out there with the same exact one. I purposely checked before hand to see if there were others because I don't like having to go thru having to pick out a name.

I don't see why I would have to change my name at all. It seems ridiculous to change it when I see no harm in it at all.

BTW, this is the character that has been flagged for a name change. I didn't bother changing his name because it'll take me a while to find something I'd be happy with. So for all those that actually read this post, it means you've now been corrupted by this oh so terrible name.

Note also if you continue to make inappropriate names it can and will result in account actions. Just as a warning for you.

^^ This is pretty spot-on.

We investigate names as reported. Length of time one has been in existence has no bearing on whether or not a name is appropriate.

Just as a side-note, the Armory is an incredibly poor resource tool for names. The way that updates, even if you find names, there is absolutely no guarantee that character still exists ingame as listed.
