Account and email hacked advise would be nice

on july 31st i signed into my account just fine, same with me email. I go to play on august first to find i couldnt sign into my account or my email on hotmail.com. I then look up my characters on the armoury to see that all my gear was sold/ disenchanted as my characters are naked.

Had all gear that could be sold taken off

had everything taken as all of it could be sold, being lvl 60 raid epics or quest items or boes

Im guessing the person also looted my guild bank as killerplox had a high rank in the guild and could take 5 stacks from every tab except for that last 2.

just to name a few. My email/battle.net that was hacked is under the email [email protected]

And is it possible for me to get my account switched to a new secure email. I made this trial account so i could open a ticket up in game as well as post on the forums.

After having an ingame ticket opened a talked to a gm and they said that my account was now locked and my gear and gold was being revived as we speak i now just need to unlock it and i thought i would post here before i called billing.

Well, there is an open investigation on this, but what is vital is finding out how they got hold of you password and ID. If that source isn't identified, the chances of them getting right back in are VERY high.

A compromised email could certainly do it. I'd recommend NOT using the same one - setup another unrelated one from a known secure system and change your Battle.net.

To unlock this, you are going to need to respond to the security email you were sent. They are waiting on confirmation from you that everything is secure and back in your exclusive control.


The recovery portion of that email is the key to unlocking this.

You may also want to look into getting an authenticator for your account. It's no substitute for good security habits, but it will help keep them out of your WoW account.
