Account hacked and now unable to Login

Today I discovered my account had been hacked, after seeing that I'd lost all my gold and many of my emblems, items and trade supplies after logging in... I quickly reset my password and opened an in game ticket to speak with a GM, after 3 hours of no reply I logged out to get on with real life things, upon returning and trying to log back in a couple of hours later I find that neither my new or old password work to access my character list, giving the error message that I typed either my account name or password incorrectly and instructions on how to retrieve lost passwords. The strange thing is that I can log into battle.net and my account management on Worldofwarcraft.com using my new password, just not the game. Please help.

Have you checked your email for a new password?

It's standard procedure to reset those when we get a compromise report.

Well, yours is the last one I see on here.

Have you tried rebooting your system since? That may not work, but it certainly cannot do any harm.

Check your email in just a bit.

Yes, it is a bit odd for them to be different in different places. May be small lag in updating one area at the moment.

This is already in queue as of 6 hours ago. Really nothing on the reporting end left to do.

What is vital now is identifying the source of this so it doesn't recur. If they CAN still get your information, they WILL be back.

You may also want to look into getting an authenticator for your account. It's no substitute for good security habits, but it will help keep them out of your WoW account.
