Sometimes I see people in trade chat selling things REALLY cheap.

After talking with them etc. for a few mins it becomes obvious that they are [Removed] gold farmers.

My question is - will buying their stuff (for insanely cheap prices) put my account at risk? I've had a friend tell me he unknowingly purchased a whole bunch of enchanting mats from a gold farmer and Blizzard banned him because they thought he was somehow tied into gold trading.

This doesn't seem fair for the average player that wouldn't suspect a thing?

Q u o t e:
But my actual question is - can you banned for buying from these kind of suspicious people? As I said, a mate of mind got a suspension and it certainly can look to Blizzard like you are apart of the breach of ToS when all you're doing is purchasing cheap stuff.

If you knowingly purchase stolen goods there is a possibility that there will be repercussions, Grentok. The items may be taken back, and an account action may be issued, depending on the situation. I am in no position to provide you with a definitive answer here, as this would be reviewed on a case by case basis, and is very situational. The simply answer to your question, Grentok, would be yes, it is possible. We do not lightly suspend our players, though, and, as I said above, there would need to be substantial proof to validate the actions taken. :0)
