There is a LOT more to this game than gear

On any given day that I browse the forums, I find at least 50-75% of the topics are regarding LFD problems, crazy raids leaders, gearscore requirements, and things like that. I, myself, am a casual player. Only able to put in an hour or so a day, maybe more on the weekends. Even that was stressing me out. Log in, try to join pug, join pug, it turns out to be fail, log out, and accomplish nothing for the evening.

So, this past week, I figured I would try something different---working on my loremaster and seeker titles. You know what? I am enjoying this game so much more now. I am getting to find all sorts of new and exciting places, discovering new lore, and I don't lag at all when I am hanging out in Arathi Highlands!

Basically, what I am saying is this--If you are frustrated with the state of raiding, and all the gear score requirements, or anything else for that matter--go try questing again. Take your time at it. Read the quest text (does anyone still read them?). You may find it much more enjoyable than the usual grind this game has become!

I started working towards Loremaster on my main character as soon as it was implemented, and I think it was one of the best decisions I could have made. I had a blast and the process fit my play style perfectly. Instead of puttering around Dalaran before raids, I would just head back over to Kalimdor or Eastern Kingdoms, turn on my Low Level quest tracker, and slowly work my way through each zone. By the time I received my title and tabard, I felt like I was playing a whole new game.

That's just my personal experience, though. Everyone has a different way of approaching World of Warcraft, and working towards Loremaster might not be for all players. But, like you said, sometimes it's good to try new things!
