Reactivating older account

We are trying to activate an older account, one that was deactivated before the battle.net conversion. It was originally under my wife's email address, but after it was hacked once we switched it to mine, since she works on a public computer a lot.

I tried retrieving the password after the one I thought was on it failed, but I have not received the Blizzard email yet, under her or my address. I have an authenticator on this current account, but not her old one. She had taken the authenticator off when we canceled the account.

Is there a way to check to see if that account got reactivated under someone else? Hacked I guess, since it's been a while and there was no authenticator on it.

I would submit a ticket in-game, but I have a current one working on a few days so I don't want to edit that.

Given the nature of this call, I'm afraid that email is not an option. That said, you could always look into various free Voice over IP programs that allow you to make toll free calls for free of charge. :)
