Q u o t e:
Funny how thousands of people were affected the SAME DAY... right after blizzard extends the patch due to "authentication issues".... how ironic....
Authentication issues has to do with the login servers, Spectralite, they were making some adjustments to it which affected peoples ability to log in for a brief time. It has nothing to do with Authenticators.
The Technical Support forums receives a number of posted regarding the removal of a maliciously attached Authenticators because of the sticky post that is in that forum providing information on the removal of a maliciously attached Authenticator and a request to post there to request its removal. Your data is subjective at best but mostly it is a hugely exaggerated the sky is falling statement with no real facts to it.
Q u o t e:
Amazing how I've never had an issue until this patch release and suddenly blizzard comes out with "authentication delays" for the patch.... few hours later... hey guess what... account hacks happen to thousands of people....
It is also amazing how many red cars there are on the road, once you purchase one. That is what it is called, Spectralite, red car syndrome. You notice a lot of something because you are in the same boat.. er car.
Q u o t e:
However, the posts you seen TODAY are all the exact same. I can scroll back for weeks in the technical forums and don't see any active that even remotely challenges the active that has happened JUST TODAY.
Yes, because it is obvious that people are actively working on the Technical Support forum to address those particular posts, hence the amount of blue on that forum. When that happens you will notice a number of people, who are also likely trying to call Billing or e-mail them use that method of contact as well.
Again, notice the red car.
Q u o t e:
Deny deny deny. Gotta love the blizzard philosophy......
What exactly would you like us to say, Spectralite?
Your are wrong. Your data is bad. None of your accusations are correct.
I can tell you that the number of compromises has not fluctuated much over the last few weeks or months, but I am unable to provide you with our internal information. If you think I am not telling the truth, that the company itself is lying to their players then there is very little I can tell you, because you won't believe it anyway.
I'm sorry but I won't be able to give you what you desire: validation.
I can say that the number of phishing attempts that we have seen has gone up, with the announcement of Cataclysm beta the effort to trick people into giving up their account information has increased. Overall though the number of compromises we have received has not shifted.
Believe me or not that is your choice, but these forums are here to foster a dialog and discussion amongst our players and our staff. To have a discussion you must be willing to listen, which seems unlikely given your current posting style.
Since this thread is not providing to be productive I will be locking it.
