Guild Leader Issue - how much longer

Our guild leader hasn't logged into the game in almost 2 months. After 30 days, I put in a ticket. At this point, the GL and also NONE of the rank 2 members of the guild have played. All that's left are the rank 3, rank 4, and rank 7 members. I am the longest tenured of the Rank 3 players. The response to the ticket about our leader being gone for 30 days was, well, a nice cookie cutter response saying that they were unable to promote anyone at this time to GL and would e-mail the GL for a resolution. So, I e-mailed wowgm with further info, including the active player names and ranks, and the inactive player names, ranks, and how long they had been inactive. All of the active players would like to stay in the guild, but none of the active players have the ability to promote people or access the 5th bank tab. So, this guild will eventually die from attrition if we don't get a GL.

So, my question is, how long do we have to wait for Blizzard to attempt resolution with the MIA GL? Is it even possible for them to promote a Rank 3 to the GL, or are we just attempting something that isn't even an option.

It's entirely possible that while you hadn't seen him - he'd not truly been gone that long.

Q u o t e:
I'm going off the information the game is providing in the social panel, guild tab. Not just off of personal sightings or addon information. Also, e-mails sent to all known toons for the last several weeks have gone unanswered, including e-mails counting down number of days inactive and emails about what we should do without a GL.

We can assist with this, Silstar. You asked what may have been a possible reason, this player may have characters and/or play on realms that you aren't aware of.

That was what I was trying to answer for you - a possible reason why.
