Authenticator question

I was browsing the web today and came across an authenticator for the computer, known as "foobma". Basically its a jar file that allows you to generate an authenticator. Because its a java file it will run off many mobile phones. Heres a link to it:

So my question is, is this legal? Because its not official from blizzard.

Why would I use it you might ask?
Well, first of all, the authenticator for my cell phone isn't free, and I don't have a credit card. Second of all, it allows you to back up the authenticator data, which would be great if my computer crashed or similar, it would save having to wait for weeks for blizzard to remove the authenticator.

Also, with the official mobile authenticator, is there some way of backing up the authenticator? It could be quite a hassle if lost/broke my phone for example.

Thanks.

Sorry to be raising the dead, but is there any way to backup the official mobile authenticator?

If not, what is the process to remove it?(if I lost the authenticator)

You really should keep the serial number in a safe and secure place.

If that ever needs to be removed, Billing can assist. Having the serial number is very helpful to that process.

Thanks for your reply.

So if I needed to have the authenticator removed, I would need to email billing with the serial number?

And is that serial number the EU-1234 etc etc?

For a European version, I believe they start that way.
