Hey blizzard, I just wanted to give you a heads up that I received a spoof email today that was trying to gain access to my account through a false battle net portal.

I immediately knew it was a spoof (and didnt even click the link) as it was trying to get my to confirm my email address so it would be linked to my battle net account, however my email has been linked to that account since the shift to BNET started.

I explored the header, found the original sender's email address. Unfortunately for him, it appears to be a personal email address and through a simple google search I was able to find a myspace and pure volume page. The pages contained information including the individual's name and phone number.

I was simply wondering if this information would be useful to you in helping remove this dirtbag from our community. I would never post the personal information on these forums, as I actually have some morality, unlike this person. However, please let me know if this information would be helpful to Blizzard in any way.

It's important to keep in mind that sometimes malicious parties compromise a person's email address and use it to send out the phishing scams. Accordingly, I wouldn't start pointing any fingers just yet! We encourage you to forward the information to [email protected] along with the phishing email so that we may investigate on behalf of our customers.
