"Inherting" Account Question

Recently, a real-life friend of mine quit World of Warcraft. He gave me the information to his account, and I now pay for the subscription. He does not have access to the account. Am I permitted to do this?

Also, If I am permitted to do this, is it possible for billing to change the account under my name?

I'm sorry, Stratorogue, but we do not permit the sale, trade or gifting of accounts or characters, it is expressly prohibited in our Terms of Use and can lead to the closure of the account. If your friend decides to quit playing then the account should remain dormant until/unless he decides to return.
