Many of the issues people come up with about the real ID is security. I'm very curious as to what blizzard is going to do about peoples safety. A perfect example of a security issue is what happened with a guild mate of mine. She was getting stalked in the game and thankfully blizzard handled the creep; but what is stopping that person from coming back to stalk this person again, track them down to the forums and then leading to their real name. Can blizzard make 100% sure that the creeps of this game will keep my guild mates safe in real life?
Blizzard claims that they want the forums to be more than the trolling, and people creating egos and different persona. They want to show our real names because it will create a more united forum. I really want to know how this will change.
You guys also claim that the blizzard employees that post on the forums will be showing their real names. Correct me if i'm wrong but your in game GM's will not be able to post on the forums now; because we are not allowed to know there names?
Now I will accept my fate if you blizzard plan to do so, I know you guys are deleting these posts, not responding or banning the people from the forums who post something about the real ID. I just am curious as to if this is going to be an option for people or not, i do fear for the ones who do not what to show them selves on the forums. Think about the guys who play girls, or what if John Smith does something on these posts that his boss in his job doesn't like; he'll get fired. I really do think that brining real ID to the forums is going to get people harmed in real life.
We play these massive multilayer online roll playing games to roll play. People don't was to know that there guild leader is really Dan Johnson. Let us keep roll playing unless you can give divine protection to the ones who fear of their safety because of the true creeps you can't control.
