Scammed out of 5k

Ok this is completely a noob moment on my part however here it is.

I observed advertising in trade for a better part of the night that went something like this: Selling murloc the pet marine code for 10k.

After a while I decided to go ahead and talk to this person. And I did so for about half an hour. Not sure how I became so trusting as to give a down payment to this character ([removed] - added to my friends list to watch out for him). He immediately logged off with my gold in his possesion.

I created an immediate ticket stating all of the information and also directing the GM that investigates the issue to my chat log under which the said person could find all the information regarding the 'deal'.

I received a notification that my ticket has been escalated. After the wait time for an escalated ticket I received a general costumer service email with had nothing to do with my ticket. All it said is we can not restore your items that you requested, go here for help with various topics.

I just never understood this. Why a general response to a scamming ticket. It really disappointed me in the investigative system :(

Aha. I see what happened, Altronix. It looks as if there were two separate issues reported within the same petition, but it was displaying in such a manner that only the initial request was visible for a short while. A member of our staff is looking into this on your behalf now. :)
