with this attitude of "just don't post if you don't want your name revealed" from staff, and the rash of hacking that seems to have increased lately, I'd like to (sadly) request that my account be permanently banned from the forums.
In the event that I find myself with a compromised account I don't want to find I've been "opted in" by a hacker posting phishing links on the forums in the hopes of generating more "business". Even when the posts are deleted the damage has been done... locking the barn door after the horse escapes is kind of silly.
I'm saddened that this seems to be the only option available to me, INCLUDING cancelling my account (since hackers have been known to use stolen credit cards to reactivate old accounts). And before anyone asks, yes, I do have an authenticator... that does not mean my account is entirely safe.
If necessary I suppose I could start making profane posts or linking to suspicious sites to get that permaban. Blues? please advise if I have to take this route to get the request fufilled... cause I'd rather not be a rule-breaker.
