How do you de activate Real ID

I didnt think I had it enabled.. I didnt click accept to invites and yet there are scripts around that wisper me my Real ID ingame.. someone said that it can be disabled..

WHY is it a function that is enabled regardless of the fact that I havent even accepted or signed up to use the stupid feature..

Can someone please explain step by step how to disable this feature
