Blizzard,
I have had my account suspended 3 times in less then a month. The most recent was this morning just after 1am. This is the message that I have received each time:
Account Action: 72 Hour Suspension
Reason for Action: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Abuse of the Economy
Each time I have written what I believed to be a well thought out and measured response explaining what I do with my account, and how I don't believe I am doing anything wrong. Each time I have gotten this response from Blizzard after the suspension has expired:
Thank you for taking the time to contact us regarding the World of Warcraft account you are using. We understand your point of view and have thoroughly reviewed this issue. As a result, the account action has been removed from the account and all involved parties have been addressed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Yes, that is correct, after the suspension has expired they remove the action from my account. Awfully generous. Snide comments aside I realise and understand that this new Sheriff of yours is shooting first and asking questions later, that the work load of people in the Account Action department must be imense and that I am but one of many many million of subscribers.
Basically I have no recourse right? I cant get on the phone "The hold queue is full because our sheriff has shot everyone, I will now disconnect you, please stay up until 1am in the morning to call". The message I send on the form gets replied to days after the suspension is already over, then, mere days later I am suspended again without any further clue as to what I am doing wrong.
Blizzard, moderators, peers, trolls, I have one short question that may require a long answer.
WTH?
Now, you have read this far and you can choose to stop reading here, I wont hold it against you. What I thought I would do was put some information in now to give anyone who is interested an idea of what I do. This is to forestall some questions people may ask.
My friend and I no longer raid, we PvP and sell things on the AH. We have seperate accounts (two each) and use authenticators. We do not share accounts. The basic cycle is, buy mats from trade or from the AH, craft them with our level 80's. We have every profession and sell every il245 and il264 epic in the game. What we do is not really any different to what many people do, just on a larger and more professional scale. Yes, we spreadsheet our mats, work out cost of goods, calculate minimum margins and turnover more epics in a week than most people would in a year. We don't "own" the market but most people would have difficulty causing us concern. Dedicated campers will beat us and so will someone who trys harder to get cheap mats. The main impact on the market would be cheaper epics and being able to buy any epic you wanted.
I have two accounts, one of my account has my level 80's, three of them. Two are reasonably geared but don't raid anymore, I got bored of it. The second account just has mules, these mules I use to buy mats off the AH and trade channel. The gold for our purchases and sales is pooled in our guild bank. There are only the two of us in the guild, it was made with the express purpose of running this in game business.
We have never exchanged inworld items for real world currency, why would we need to?
If you have decided that I was not abusing the economy two times, and I havnt changed my actions at all, the chances are high that I probably will not be found to be abusing the economy this time.... right? I mean give me a break, the email saying "Hey, sorry for the stuff around, we have removed this from your permanent record, you are free to go" Is not all that satisfying if you have already been shot.
Blizzard, I know you don't have time for this, but get a GM to chat to us in game, get them to watch what we do, and hey, if they want to know what the economy is doing on Nagrand, ask us. Hell, I'll forward you our spreadsheets if you like. Jump on my vent and listen to us discuss sales and mats. I know this is wishful thinking.
Bliz, any reply would be good. Maybe even a way to stop me from getting wrongfully suspended every few days.
Sheriff.... put the gun down.
