Faction Name Change Issue (same name error)

Hey all,

Buddy of mine just xfered from Horde to Alliance on Trollbane and he did the faction change and everything went smoothly according to the transaction history page.

But when he logged in and switched him over to alliance using the SAME name as he was on horde, it says the name is unavailable. but no one has the name but him...

I friended him on my horde toon, and said "player must be part of alliance..etc" and i friended him on my alliance and it worked fine, but he cannot log in saying the name is unavailable.

Any one have this issue or know a fix?

Can you give me the name and realm of a character on that account, Plux?

Odd, the name is flagged for a name change. That is usually only something I see if the character was transferred as well as faction changed and wasn't logged in between the steps. Your friend should be set.

In other words, have him log into the character. If he is getting the option to select a new name, let me know.

Absolutely, but he should be able to log in now without being prompted to change his name.
