Q u o t e:
Early this morning I attempted to log onto World of Warcraft and was prompted to provide an authenticator code. Me not being the owner of a blizzard authenticator (I'm an idiot, if my account is recovered successfully an authenticator will be purchased immediately) am led to believe that my account has been compromised (This belief was later confirmed when friends of mine have seen that my character is online). I have the security question/answer as well as the codes used to activate my game disks. I have sent blizzard an email outlining this issue but seeing as how email responses are generally slow and/or automated I am wondering how I should go about having my account restored. All responses welcomed and appreciated!
On a side note: for the past 8 hours while my character has been out of my control it has been in Hellfire Peninsula and Ramparts. What could any hacker possibly be doing in low level Outlands area?
Please check your email for further instructions on this, Orianthi. Once you are certain your system and email are secure - follow those directions. They were actively in the account so we've locked it down to prevent any further damages.
Once you have access again, please do report any damages as soon as possible.
