I normally can tell a fake e-mail from a real one. I received an e-mail saying that my account was now active for the Cataclysm beta.
I double checked the links to make sure they were pointing towards "real" blizzard sites. I figured it was real because when I logged in, it asked for my Authenticator code as well and brought me to the account management page.
It showed the "WoW1" thing active, and I downloaded the Cataclysm client, after hours upon hours of patches I tried logging in and no realms show up.
However, thinking the realms were just down. I tried to make a post on the beta forums and it says my account has no active cataclysm characters linked to it or something to that effect as the message on the top.
When I click on that message to "Link" the account it brings up my Account # with no characters shown.
So, im wondering if I just got beta scammed, or if this was an error? It logged me correctly into the battle.net account page and showed my games, my account etc.. and even asked for my Authenticator code so it seemed legit.
Can I please get an answer on this? I am kinda worried... any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Edit: I read the blue sticky post on the top, and everything that happened from the time of me clicking on the e-mail to the download of the client/patching seemed 100% legit. So it never crossed my mind that it could possibly be a scam.
