I am aware i may call blizzard and have the name attached to my Bnet account changed, and thus appear in realID friends list more favorably. I know friends who use things like sam smith and jhon doe however then i have no idea who's who on my friends list and i would not like to perpetuate this problem. Seeig as i would like to appear with my mains name: would "Annirun Bannanamuffin (or other obvious fake)" be allowed?

Actually, it isn't so simple, nor are name changes taken lightly. The proper legal identification is necessary to accomplish a name change, and they are reserved for corrections and alterations of legal identity; such a married name.

The name that a Battle.net account is registered to is the registered owner of that account, thus if your identification does not match that name, then that can cause substantial inconveniences in the future. In addition, it's a violation of our Terms of Use.

The simple answer is 'no'.
