Questions about my Account (was Compromised)

I took a long break from WoW and when i came back i found out my account was disabled because it was compromised by "someone not authorized to do so by the World of Warcraft Terms of Use". After recovering my account and adding gametime, i log in to find my character in PvP gear, only 2 bags, 4g, and no weapon. I had a full PvE and a lot more gold and plenty of enchanting mats and plenty of ore from mining as well. I opened a ticket and explained the situation. The last time i logged in was probably last november, so the items could have been deleted anytime between now and then. I was just wandering what are the chances that i will get all of my stuff back? Even if they were sold to a vendor and the gold was mailed or sold would i still get the items back?

I am terribly sorry, Seedy.

We do restore what we can, whenever we can - and a promptly reported compromise usually has good results. This was just too old.

That gold isn't necessarily what you lost, it's to try to help you get back on your feet because we cannot verify with our logs what was indeed lost.

Looking at your notes here, are you certain you found the source of this? It's not beyond the realm of possibility the original source could still exist. I know you certainly don't want this to happen again.

This sticky may be useful.

You may also want to look into getting an authenticator for your account. It's no substitute for good security habits, but it will help keep them out of your WoW account.
