This is an Email i received regarding the Cata Beta that was (at least to me) very official looking... Do not click on the links etc.. But i'd like for somebody to explain to me how this is done.

It seemed to be to pretty official until, i was very careful about it, I thought i remembered the Guild Contest being long over, so i opened the email on my Iphone. Once i was there, the links still looked very offical.. excluding the URL. But it states that is from [email protected] which made me actually beleive for the instant second.

The links themselves may look legitimate but could very well lead to a site that only looks like an official page. You should be able to hover over the link and see where it actually goes. More information on how to detect fake/phishing e-mails can be found in the following thread.
