Account hacked then closed?

hello, this morning when my brother tried logging into his account he found that somebody had attached an authenticator to his account and he could not log in.

Allegedly he sent an e-mail to some blizzard e-mail or other, my brother is a bit dim witted so god knows where it went....

Soon after, he found a blizzard notification of account closure in his e-mail.

I don't recall his account being in bad standing and account closure seems to have skipped a few steps on the, uh...warning volcano thingy.

Regardless, we haven't had anything back in e-mail yet ( i know its not instant and I'm not personally waiting around for it) but i was hoping somebody could give us some pointers, maybe make sure we talk to the right people.

On a mildly related note, the store is out of authenticators again, when do shipments usually come in? I wanna get one before all the hackers buy them up again.

Q u o t e:
I thought accounts got suspended when blizzard found them hacked, not closed.

It doesn't always work like this I'm afraid. When an account is found to be violating our Terms of Use in some way we immediately take action based on the violations we found. We are unable to immediately determine if the account may or may not have been compromised at the time of that violation.

We notify the registered e-mail address of the violation, if the player believes that the penalty was made in error or was made while not under their direct control (i.e. compromised) we can launch an investigation to verify the compromise and potentially overturn the penalty.

A more in-depth response can be found in the following thread.

Did your brother sent the dispute from the registered address on the account? If you can give me the name and realm of a character on the account I may be able to confirm that his e-mail was received. I believe the turn around for Account Administration disputes are around is currently within 48 hours.
