Can't Opt Out of Real ID?

I can't find a way to opt out of the Real ID feature on my Battle.net account.

Real ID is supposed to be live by the time Star Craft II goes live and that is only 3 weeks away. Is everyone automatically enrolled in Real ID and the optional part is not posting on the forums or sharing your Real ID with other people?

I don't want my real name publically associated with my account so I don't want to use Real ID even if that means I can't post on the Forums. Can someone point me to information about how to not participate? The Blizzard Real ID information page doesn't give any information about how you are enrolled in this feature.

Dragonlord, the way to opt out of Real ID is simply not to accept or send any Real ID invitations. Simple as that.

Your name will only be displayed if you post once the change is made, which won't be until the release of the Cataclysm expansion.

Apparently this is unclear so let me say again. Those of us who moderate the CS forum will not be participating in this discussion. We are not able to speak on behalf of the Developers and others involved in this decision.

We will only work to correct misconceptions. Many people think that this will be a retroactive change so we are letting them know it is not. We are also assuring them that their Real ID will only be viable if they use the Real ID friend system or if they post once the new version of the forums is introduced.

For any other discussion regarding this matter you'll want to stick with the General Discussion forum or even the Suggestion forum.
