Extremely Vulgar Trade Chat-Help Gm's!

Hello, to start off-yes i will be filling out a GM ticket about this issue as well.

My current server-Zuluhed US-Stormstrike Battlegroup

To give you guys a brief history of our trade chat-

Our trade chat has often had trolls in it as well as many other servers, but lately this has gotten extremely out of hand.

I'm not talking about a handful of trolls just spamming random things...

I'm talking full on GUILDS(or so it seems), trolling extremely vulgar and tasteless things in trade...

Every now and again i will chuckle at some of the things said....

But when they start going over the top it just gets really really embarassing and annoying.

She constantly triggers off many people and causes an uproar in trade.

My ignore list is full on all of my alts and mains.

Report spam feature is feeling over used because of the excess of gold sellers that spam us from time to time....and i don't want to keep filling a ticket for improper use of trade chat.

So my whole point of posting this would be:

Dear Gamemasters,

I really would want you guys to come onto our server one day around 6-10pm server time....and see for yourself how bad we really get....
This is so bad i won't even let my younger family members play the game while i am in a city as the excess of vulgar language is way to much for them.

Please help blizzard.

As for the regular player posters,
Some of you may find this as "QQ" others may sympathize with me. What i would ask is please give me any tips on solving the crisis on my realm.

So sorry to waste your time

I'll have to disagree with your method of "handling" the use of inappropriate language, Kastyn. It is important to remember that this is game is rated T for Teen and due to this factor there is a specific atmosphere that is to be expected.

Parents should feel secure in allowing their children to play and know exactly what kind of interaction they are likely to have. Parents as well as other players should be safe to assume that any language or content that is not appropriate will be dealt with appropriately.

This is why there is a petitioning system. To report possible issues within the game, including inappropriate language and subject matter. The problem we have is that so many others have simply chosen to ignore the issue instead of reporting it. So what started out to be the occasional use of a inappropriate word has become much more common and the language has escalated.

A realm is much like a neighborhood in which the residents need to report suspicious or inappropriate behavior. If you do not, or say you will then simply don't do it you are helping to create an atmosphere that not many would enjoy living in. In many cases what we have seen is someone shouting reported and then not doing it. Giving the person who was "reported" the false impression that we looked into the matter and nothing was done and others on the realm the impression that we simply don't care about this behavior.

Sodamann,

My advice is the same as it always will be. Report inappropriate chat when you find it. Yes, if this has become the norm on a realm it may take some time before there is a noticeable improvement but this is your environment, where you spend some of your recreational time, I hope it it worth it to you to help protect it.

Unfortunately our queue times are much higher than we would like them at the moment but don't let that discourage you. We are able to look into chat that happened days or weeks prior and will take what actions are appropriate based on the violations we find. Submit a petition, include the name of the person you are reporting (if this is in a BG or cross realm instance make sure to include the realm), include the approximate time this happened and if you can a sample of what was said.

Please only use the Report Spam feature for actual spam, it can be gold or player generated but should only be used for spam type behavior. Inappropriate language and subject matter should be reported via petition or by e-mailing wowgm@blizzard.com.
