You really believe it's not making money for them? Go-go Blizzard fanboy! The Authenticators are a slap in the face to players. Hackers use stolen credit cards to buy thousands of authenticators at once. Should that be flagged!? Nobody get suspicious!? Really?
There is a limit on the number of these that can be purchased, and it's quite low.
And no - I don't care if you buy one, or managed to somehow buy 1,000, we do NOT make money on these, they are sold at less than cost and are offered to help you protect yourself.
Most compromises that add one actually use a mobile version that is free. Something else we developed at our expense and provide our players.
I really am at a loss as to why anyone would NOT want to protect their accounts at this point.
