If you wish to have an Authenticator removed from your Battle.net account, Shilofax, that was not added maliciously or without your permission, then you will need to contact Account Services. You can so:

If you opt to send in the form, please circle the "Deactivate Authenticator" option, complete all required fields, and attach all requested documents.

* One trick of the trade for calling is to spam redial. It sounds silly, but it's actually quite a successful technique. Now, you may receive (or have already received) a busy message when trying to call in. The reason you'd receive that message is when our phone lines are completely full. This means that all representatives are on the line with other customers and all "on hold" spots are occupied. The good news is that those "on hold" spots free up all the time. So, if you're willing to redial a few times, you're very likely to get through. :)

Totally understandable, Shilofax, and thank you for being so patient! I just wanted to make sure that you had all avenues of contact at your disposal. :)

I cannot get this authenticator off my account without sending in a Photo ID. WHY IS THIS NECESSARY?!

We treat the security of the account with great respect, Shilofax. Therefore, if we are receiving a request to remove a legitimately-attached Authenticator, we want to make sure the request is coming from the registered account holder. Unfortunately, certain phishing attempts can sometimes glean information including the Secret Question/Answer and registered CD key from a player, so we ask that a government-issued ID be provided to verify ownership.

Really I'm only 15, and i have never had a parent call for me and I've gotten unhacked/banned all on my own with no problems from blizzard. But for some reason they now want Photo ID for a simple account management process. The account is under my name... So wtf am i supposed to do now?

Birth certificates are a valid form of ID that we accept, so you may want to explore that option. :)

You may also want to look into having the name on your account updated to that of a legal guardian, too. Just note this in the email you send back over to Account Services.

Q u o t e:
Okay, this is all good and fine, besides the fact 2 weeks ago when i got unhacked/unbanned i didn't have to do this. Why is getting an account unhacked less complicated then removing something you did to yourself on accident.

Just as the purposes of a legitimately-attached Authenticator a maliciously-attached Authenticator are very, very different, so are the procedures to remove them. To preserve the integrity of our procedures, though, I am unable to reveal more than that, but I will say that we are able to identity when an Authenticator is attached legitimately and when it is attached maliciously.

Edit: Just saw your last post about finding the bit about Birth Certificates. Hope that works out for you!

Wait, so if I send an e-mail with a copy of my birth certificate, I can get the auth. removed? Really confused right now. :/

It's not that simple. You can either complete this form (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article/26361), select "Deactivate Authenticator," and attach the requested documents, or contact us by phone or email requesting that an Authenticator be removed. For these options, we may determine that further verification of your ID is necessary and request that you provide a government-issued ID. I wouldn't just send a copy of your ID willy-nilly to billing@blizzard.com.
