Has Blizzard (or rather their legal team) considered the potential implication of posting someone's RL name on a video game forum? Considering the depths that some people have taken things to, doesn't Blizzard worry about people being hurt or potentially killed over a video game?

I have seen people in trade chat within the game say extremely racist and hurtful things and when they do, they get reported for it. But considering how awful it is, it's not unlikely that some of these people use the same "trade troll" to post on the forums.

If they do, someone could easily get their real name and we all know that it's not hard to learn everything you want about someone via the internet. I mean let's face it, some people have alraedy DIED over this video game. We've all heard stories about someone being shot in real life for Ninjaing an item or something like that.

Or the kid who just DIED of a heart attack after playing for like... 3 days straight??? With that kind of emotional connection, isn't it at least feasible that something terrible could happen as a result of this??

Personally, i don't care if people have my real name and most others won't.

So i'm curious... Has Blizzard considered this? I'm sure they have... but how are you planning on handling it?

As a parent, if my son were attacked over a video game and i found out the attacker learned of my son's whereabouts via a video game forum, this would be a fairly straightforward lawsuit that any lawyer worth his salt could win. BIG.

THoughts?
