RealID - A sensible alternative

Blizzard, I post this out of concern for both myself and other gamers. I work in a profession that deals with criminals on a daily basis. Access to my personal information over the internet is a real and present danger to myself and my family. I urge you to reconsider the Full First and Last name on the forums.

I understand that you wish to go ahead with this and I offer this alternative.

First initial, last name. In my case that would be D. Smith. If I post on the forums it's entirely likely that people will associate D. Smith with me, or maybe a few dozen others. But it will dramatically limit the number of possibles, yet not to such a degree that I, as a government employee, have to be concerned that somebody might find me.

Even a J. Warzcowski, S. Thompson, L. Vasquez or whatever would be too ambiguous to be able to pin down to a specific individual.

For god's sake, please, use your brains about this and not the marketting dollars that you intend to make.
