Blizzard Post
In case you missed it, we recently announced that the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm has entered the beta testing phase, and we have already begun sending out invitations. Please be aware, however, that malicious parties are already looking to take advantage of our players’ eagerness to participate in this test by sending phishing emails masked as beta invitations. Accordingly, we ask that you carefully review your emails to ensure you are not fooled into visiting a malicious website. As Lylirra stated on the Cataclysm forum:

Q u o t e:
Please note that players selected via the opt-in system do not receive beta keys. Rather, your account will be flagged automatically and an email will be sent to you. Simply log in to your account by visiting http://battle.net when you receive a beta welcome notice and check your "Manage My Games" section to verify that the beta client is available for download. Be careful when reading emails claiming to be beta invites. Scam emails often use clickable links to gather your account information, so the safest practice is to go to http://battle.net to check on your beta invitation status. If you would like tips on how to arm yourself against phishing attempts, head over to the Battle.net Account Security page: http://us.battle.net/security/

You can find the Cataclysm Beta forums here (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/board.html?forumId=7555625&sid=2000). Keep in mind that these forums are open to the public, but only those invited into the test environment will be able to post. Check out the full announcement for the beta test, and stay tuned for more exciting news about World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.

Beta Opt-in

If you wish to opt-in to possibly receive a Beta invitation for Cataclysm or other upcoming projects you may do so through your Account Management page. Simply click on the Beta Profile Settings option and select either Windows or Macs.

https://us.battle.net/account/management/beta-profile.html

You will be prompted to download a program designed to check your system. The program should be called SystemCheck_enUS, running this will cause it to gather your system information. After you click Send it will associate your system information with your account and direct you to your Beta Profile page. There you will be able to select which products you may be interested in beta testing. If you have already set up your Beta Profile you will simply be directed to your profile page.
