Hacked - Blue Tracker

Hey,
I got kicked out of playing and when I went to log back in it said my password was wrong. So I went ahead and changed it not thinking a great deal about it. After running a quick heroic I was then booted again and the same thing happened. I went to try to log on again and it asked for an Authenticator code, I don't have an Authenticator nor have I ever purchased on...yet...Anyways I had a friend log on and he saw my char going between Dal and Org and then Armory showed me with nothing except a few items. :( No idea how this happened because I always copy paste my PW instead of typing it (helps avoid keyloggers maybe) It was probably the new password I entered. Anyways I'd like to recover my account (Luckily still logged into forums) and I have no idea what to do, seeing as how Tech Support is away till the morning I messaged here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Did you find the source of how they obtained your information, Death?

Copy and paste will not defeat a keylogger. 20 years ago that may have worked, keylogger is a bit of a misnomer as modern ones can see your clipboard and even your screen if they like.

This was already reported, so the investigation process is initiated. The authenticator looks to have also been removed so you should have access again with your most recent password.

Security will be the main part of this - at this point.

You may also want to look into getting an authenticator for your account. It's no substitute for good security habits, but it will help keep them out of your WoW account.

It's not always malware, although that is a principle cause in many cases.

Phishes are rampant. Fake websites that look like ours - and even popular addons are rampant and they even sponsor Google links to them.

Reusing the same pass/ID anywhere else - especially websites - is VERY risky.

Naturally if you've used multiple systems, even to log into the forums or Account Admin, any one of those could be the culprit.

Tons of other ways as well, but the list above is the most common. Don't forget it's possible to also get your email account compromised, and sometimes they even put a forwarding on it - so that needs checked as well.
