Actually they put this on the 23rd of June, so this is pretty recent.

Please go over the information below and check your email for a new password. See if you can access the account.

------------------

If an account has been merged to a Battle.net, or if an email has been changed, or an authenticator added to the account (not the player's own) one of your first stops is going to be Billing. They need to get those sorted out first so the rest of the processes can continue.

Billing and Account Services
Phone Support - 1 (800) 59-BLIZZ (1 (800) 592 5499)
Live Representatives Available 7 days a week, 7am to 8pm Pacific Time
E-mail Support - Billing@Blizzard.com
Players in Australia should call 1-800-041-378
Players in Singapore should call 800-2549-9273
Players in Chile should call 1230-020-5554
Players in Mexico should call 001-888-578-7628
Players in Argentina should call 0800-333-0778
All other international players should call: (949) 955-0283

Now, it's very very important to figure out where the security breach occurred. If they CAN get back in, they WILL be back. That, unfortunately, you can count on.

These two stickies should prove helpful.

You may also want to look into getting an authenticator for your account. It's no substitute for good security habits, but it will help keep them out of your WoW account.

there was no password reset on my email, and i did notice a core hound pup earlier than june 23rd......

is there anywy i can manually remove the authenticatyor or am i just sol?

It's gone.

The previous pup was likely from the last time they added one exploitatively in March.

Finding the source of how they are obtaining your password and ID is going to be vital to keep this from recurring.

It may take a few minutes for the password to come through. You might also want to check your email account's spam filter/junk box - and also check to make sure they haven't put a forwarding in your email to ship information like this directly to themselves.

Rather than start a new thread, I'll just add to this one. I too, have recently had an authenticator added to my account.

I followed the instructions, and changed my password after a thorough malware scan, and when I log in with my new password, I am asked for an "Authenticator Code".

I have no idea what this means, let alone how to get into the game without one.

As an aside, when was my account last accessed? I have not played for months as far as I remember ...back in say Feburary or so.

Ooh my I hope all my bits are still there :)

Well, the good news is this looks rather recent, Heimdallr, middle of June. That is good for restoration purposes.

The not so good news is you are likely to need a restoration, but once you get in - take a look for any damages on your characters and report them as soon as possible.

See if you can access the account with your latest password.

Ok. There are bits missing. I cannot remember what specifically, however I know I had more than one bag on my main. The bank appears in tact, but it's much messier than I would ever allow. (Inventory management is a big thing for me in an RPG).

Help and advice appreciated.

Finding the source of this is always key.

For a restoration investigation, just place a petition ingame.
