Blizz i just wanted to say thank you. you guys dont really get much of that here on the forums. all you ever hear is winy QQ about the extended down time and maintenance and about bans.

I for one and perfectly happy to spend a day away from the game for the purpose of getting new hardware to play on. People don't really understand that in the end its to make a better game for them.

Hopefully a Blue will see this and know not all the fans are OOing about this down time. some of us are actually thankful your making changes to prepare for Cata. And im sure its not JUST for Cata but to improve the playing experience.

So again thank you blizz for providing a fun and addictive game. Keep up the good work

PS to all of you people that have never worked with servers before. When you turn a server off and restart it that has so many applications and programs running on it and has HEAVY usage over a week time frame or more bad things can happen. Not always but sometimes things dont start up right. Thats why that are down for so long on the normal Tuesdays.
1 for them to have time to implement what ever changes and updates to the software. 2 to test it and make sure its working as intended.

This stuff takes time and i for one don't blame them for taking extra time for hardware changes.

Thanks for understanding! We wouldn't employ maintenance periods at all, if it weren't necessary. In fact, we do try to avoid it when possible, and some Tuesdays pass without any kind of maintenance at all.

Thank you for taking the time to express your empathy though, and your appreciation. It really does mean a lot. I also saw a great suggestion in this thread; to use maintenance periods to run maintenance on your own systems too. It's a great time to run comprehensive malware scans and to defrag your drives.

However you choose to pass the time during maintenance periods, I hope you enjoy many adventures once you can return to World of Warcraft!
