At about 12.01am Tuesday morning PST this week my partner's account was closed/suspended. Thirty minutes later he received an email stating he'd "exploited the economy" - you know the terminology they use.
The thing is, this is all a mistake by Blizzard. He sent off an email to wowaccountadmin as directed straight away asking for more information - he has not ever had anything to do with gold farmers or buying gold or items or any of that dodgy stuff, he's just been earning his money the usual way (farming, crafting, auctioneering) since the raiding scene has cooled somewhat with the server's pre-expansion raiding blues.
Well we were hoping that even if Blizz was too busy to reply to the emails he'd sent (and too busy to get to us in a timely manner while on hold), it would only be a 72 hour closure and he would be able to play and raid tonight (Friday night now) and this weekend. Alas, the 72 hours have elapsed and now it's prime play time in Australia and he's still account-less, he still has received no response to his email, and we still have no idea why and no idea how to fix the situation since no one can/will talk to us.
The emotional anguish at such false accusations, the money we've spent on staying on hold for over an hour to your Accounts and Billing Services on a mobile phone (yes our naked modem is still on its way) before having to hang up due to costs, and his inability to attend our raids is really a horrible inconvenience and, well, we both love playing the game. Believe me I am thinking all this in much stronger words - it's all really quite upsetting. I'm sorry to say but we're seriously disliking Blizz's methods in how they issue and resolve these account closures. But that's a topic for another day, for now we both (not to mention his friends/guild) want him to be able to play again.
Please could anyone offer any advice or assistance? Anyone?
