Account hacked and character transfered

I recently had my account hacked and everything sold and my character transfered. I contacted blizzard and they restored all items and said my character was back on the original server. This is not the case. He is still on the other server and locked. Is there a way to get him moved back? Can any of the blizzard support personnel here help?

So I guess I am to expect another 10+ day wait?

No, but it may be 3 or 4 at the moment, Dirom. I do see you have a followup request open, it's currently 1 day, 9 hours old.

Another night of waiting....

Unfortunately unauthorized transfers and faction changes take a bit longer to sort out. The process once approved and verified needs to be completed which is not usually immediate.

I am sorry for the delay, Dirom. Good luck!

Thanks for the response. When I go to the log in screen for Dirom, it will not log him in but there is a faction change button. Am I correct in that I do not want to touch anything or click that button?

Indeed, you will probably want to avoid clicking that. Once they are able to verify the compromise they should reverse the transfer and pending faction change so the option should disappear.

Cool, figured they had verified the compromise since they returned all my items..

That part of the restoration process is usually pretty straight forward, faction changes and transfers complicate the matter because they deal with credit cards and online transactions plus the act of actually reversing the transfer/faction change, all that takes a few additional steps to complete. :)

yep, I can log him in.

What should be my next step?

It would be to log in and check your in-game mail. :)

Unfortunately, Dirom, what we can do is based on what we are able to verify. I can see that you were a member and that at the time of the compromise you removed a number of items from the bank, so you had access at one time.

Unfortunately there seems to be a little gap. I can't see if you left the guild or were kicked out or what rank you were. Without that information I don't believe we can place you back within the guild.

You are welcome to inquire though and perhaps they find something that I may have missed. Make sure you include the name of the guild and what rank you were originally.

The same thing happened to me... I talked to someone in game about 5 days ago, they said everything would only take 4-5 days.. If a gm reads this soon.. Id like an update please :) Character name is Frostykush. Used to be on Bloodhoof, But the hacker transferred it to Blacrock.

Your petition was entered 4 days 5 hours ago. The time frame you were given was an approximation, thus is may exceed the time originally estimated.

You will be contacted once your compromise investigation has been completed, Dkfail.

Do you know at what point they are in the process? This is my "vacation week" at work so i havnt been able to play at all.. Its dissapointing.

There is a misconception that these investigations take X number of days. Account compromises when reported are placed in a queue with other compromises, when your case is ready to be investigated it is pulled. What happened is verified and they work to repair the damage caused including restoring what items/gold they can. They should also look into any unauthorized transfers or faction changes and entire those for possible reversal. This usually takes a bit longer than the restoration process but it should happen within 12-24 hours of the restore.

If you haven't heard anything you can submit a petition or e-mail wowgm@blizzard.com to inquire.

You are at 4 days 5 hours into the queue, the average queue is approximately 4-5 days give or take several hours. I hope that helps.

Ok, How do I put in this inquiry? My other toon is still in the guild. I was Rank 1 in Devils of Kimone. I was not kicked from the guild..... No one with the ability to kick has an active account.

Submit a petition or write to wowgm@blizzard.com. State that your account was recently restored after a compromise but that during the compromise it seems that you were removed from the guild "name of guild". Let them know that your Guild Leader isn't currently active and you were hoping you could be added to the guild at the rank you were before the compromise, listing the rank.

Since the guild leader has been away for awhile you may also want to inquire about transferring leadership as well and mention that the items restored the bank would have been delivered to the current absentee guild leader.

Wrath, from what I can see your investigation was completed. Unfortunately given how long ago the apparent compromise may have happened as well as the circumstances around the transfers they were unable to provide any restoration nor move the characters back to the source realms.

It does look like they are still locked though so let me see if something else is needed to get that done. You should at least have access to the characters. I shall return as soon as I find out.

Thank you vrakthris! any, annnny help at all would be so much off my mind - any information on what i can do would make this so much easier

I'm not certain if my assistance is still as appreciated at this point, Wrath, it looks like due to the transfers it became necessary to verify the registered user on the account. I'm told this should have already been done but my inquiries did bring the oversight to light so I apologize for what inconvenience this may cause.

You should be receiving an e-mail if you haven't already with instructions on what is needed to unlock the account. Once verified they should be able to either unlock the characters to allow access to them or reverse the previous transfer. It depends on what can be found.

Good luck, Wrath, I hope this can be resolved quickly for you.
