I know I'm not the only one and all. If you don't know what I'm talking about it's when you use to have parental controls on your account and that was like 3-4 years ago for me. But if you ever had parental controls on your account it will flag you in battle.net and turn off Real ID access. I tried turning it off Tuesday when the patch was released. I went into Battle.net and gave it my email to send me a response. So far as you can see it's Saturday yet I have not gotten a response. I've tried 2 other emails, check my spam folder and so on. Then I've tried calling Blizzard almost every day at different times. Every time I get the automated service telling me your hold queue is full. So I tried emailing blizzard over 2-3 days ago.

I know you guys are swamped and all but I just want to be able to use the new system and I haven't even seen a word from Blizzard for almost a week even though. All I want to do is turn off the parental controls COMPLETELY and that's all.

Thank you

Zirzihin, I understand your frustration with this situation but please drop the attitude. The others here are attempting to give you helpful advice.

That word is filtered for a reason and our policies cover both clear and masked language so by implying the word you were indeed using it. Thus violating our Code of Conduct. Hathios was simply advising you so you do not have your posting privileges removed.

Pahanda was simply mentioning that we would not be able to simply turn off Parental Controls, for obvious reasons. It wasn't a slight against you or attacking you in any way. He was just suggesting that the best course of action would be to contact our Billing and Account Services.

You are welcome to wait for a reply from a Blizzard employee but it should be pointed out that this is not a petitioning system nor are we able to address each and every post mast.

Though we want to help I always hesitate a bit when I see such responses to those who are simply trying to help you.

I'm going to spend a few moments to edit some of the comments, as soon as I am done I'll see if I can look into your situation.

OK. Just to make sure, you are indicating this account as the one you are speaking about? From what I can see it doesn't appear that you have parental controls set up for this account. At least not from anything I can see. Please understand this is the reason you are referred to Billing and Account Services, they simply are better equipped to handle these issues since it is under their jurisdiction.

Now, are you attempting to use this link?

https://us.battle.net/account/parental-controls/retrieve.html

I don't believe there is an error message if you enter an incorrect e-mail address to send the e-mail to so it may be throwing you off.

Real ID should be automatically enabled so you should be able to open your social panel, on your friends tab and click add friend then add their Real ID e-mail.

You should also check under your Interface options under the Battle.net section to make sure Real ID is enabled.

If you are referring to a different account please provide a character name and realm and we'll see what we can find out. Otherwise, if your Real ID still seems to be disabled I'm afraid the best thing to do is to contact our Billing department.

Q u o t e:
I am actually having the same issue. I have no Parental Controls setup cuz, well, I'm old. As of just a little while ago i'm not able to access RealID. It's like it has been disabled as all the RealID stuff is gone. The one time I decided to finally give it a go and POOF she's gone. Note that it was there "activated", turned on, whatever you want to call it, earlier today.

I too went to Battle.net and tossed in my email address to check to see if Parental Controls was turned on (which I don't see why I ever would) and I too got no response so I just figured hey no parental controls email was sent so I got no parental controls setup. In that case I assume that I can't disable RealID so it should be on and working. But it's not...

I don't see any on this account, but I do see 3 WoW accounts folded into this Battle.net.

When this system was put into place, it can inherit from any of the WoW accounts on it.

You might try doing a full reset UI. That may or may not help - but it can't hurt - see if it shakes this loose for ya.

To do a full reset UI, you will want to save your addons in another spot if you wish to preserve them.

Then rename/delete or move your WTF, Cache and Interface folders while WoW is shutdown. Reboot your system.

Note, if you are running Vista make sure your permissions are set so it does not undo your changes.

More detailed instructions for different operating systems, including Macs are here.
