What's the agenda behind RealID

No one is really discussing this but what is there to gain from tossing around all our personal info. I've done some research and I've come to believe the following:

China has partially banned/debating/soon maybe illegal wow because their government has issues with male players pretending to be women online. Some places there it is most likely illegal to sell copies of wow as is and it might be heading to an entire ban. RealID I think is blizzard's solution to allow them to continue selling in the chinese market by forcing you to be your true identity.

I'm not sure why they are implementing it on the west as some kind of social networking experiment the only reason I can see would be the global aspect of battlenet and future games ie. sc2 all sharing a template. If they tested the american public and see if we could swallow the system they developed for China it would save them development time from having to create seperate systems.

Just my theory but blowing the whistle on it anyways.
