Game Features and GM cookie cutter respones

Morning,
I have appreciated the refund feature in the game when it comes to spending frost, I have used it a few times after buying armor while I was half asleep. But today I actually goofed up when buying PVP armor from the frost merchant and gemming it all before I realized my mistake. The sad thing is I know roughly what the GM will say when he responds to my ticket. " We have implemented a refund feature into the game and after that duration expires, there is nothing more we can do" [or at least it is in that sense]
The reason I am posting this in the CSF is that I don't think it is fair to have in-game features supercede what a GM is capable or willing to do. People make mistakes and due to the time invested in getting the end game items--shouldn't a little assistance still be available?

I understand your perspective, Tasmanian, but I would like you to consider ours. We recognize that this kind of purchase error is an issue, thus we implemented the vendor buyback feature specifically to give our players tools so that Game Master intervention in these cases would not prove necessary.

While our staff is often able and willing to help, we also expect a certain amount of necessary caution and circumspection from our players, particularly when dealing with powerful or valuable items. There are confirmation windows when making purchases. There's a whole process involved in selecting and applying gems for a piece of gear. We hope that our players will make sure that an item is the correct purchase prior to to making a purchase or applying gems and enchants.

While you can still ask for assistance, it's probably best to do so with lowered expectations - our staff are generally unable to intervene in situations like this for those reasons.
