Tonight begins the 24-hour maintenance of realm Skullcrusher-US. The message makes it clear what it is about and I am not complaining.

Each day I do the Ahune battle with my three level 80 and I want to know is if my three level 80 characters will get a compensation for the lost Ahune battle opportunity tomorrow .

Unfortunately, we are not in a position to provide compensation for what 'would have' happened.

There are innumerable factors which play into whether a particular event could be, and while we have been in a position to provide compensation for long term unanticipated issues, we are not typically in a position to do so for a planned maintenance period. Not every player has an opportunity to face Ahune every day, after all.

I understand that this likely comes as some disappointment, but I wish you luck on the attempts you are able to perform.

It would be trivial to extend the event to compensate for the missed days.

That is not necessarily true, Anonymousalt, these events run automatically and rarely can be adjusted after the fact without a significant programming change.

You even ran an abbreviated Children's Week out of season for the wolvar and oracles.

Technically the Wolvar/Oracle Children's Week option was released prior to this years Children's Week. It wasn't necessarily intended that two Children's Week events would be run within the same year. For those out there that were unable to do those quests at the time the event was introduced they were able to do so during the last Children's Week. If you had already done it those quests did not reset.

Our Developers were unable to adjust how it worked this year. Though I am unable to speak for them it seems like the fairest way to do it. That way those who were able to do the quests when the Northrend Children's Week quests were introduced weren't able to have both pets the very first year of introduction.

Why can't Blizzard show a simple act of good will to those of us screwed over by the extended maintenance, patch, and billing fiascos?

If you believe that some form of compensation is warranted for the extended maintenance that is intended to help improve the gaming experience for all players on those realms and to get ready for Cataclysm you are welcome to post in the Suggestion forum.

I'm afraid this thread no longer appears to be productive so I'll be locking it.
