As is normal for server transfers, when my character was transferred to Stonemaul, the name had been changed to Ziiaxyz123 or some similar letter/number combination, and flagged for rename. No big deal – normally I would just rename immediately, but as I was doing a faction change and knew that it gave the opportunity to rename during that process, I figured I’d just wait until then and do everything at once rather than risk logging in and borking the whole process.
My faction change was processed, and I logged into my account – I deleted my level 1 alt which I had been using to hold the name Ziia, faction changed my druid from tauren to night elf, and changed my name from Ziiaxyz123 to Ziia. The system accepted the name and the faction change, and I figured I was good to go.
Except I’m not. The rename flag is still stuck on my druid as if my character still had the namexyz123 combination, despite being renamed with a perfectly acceptable name which I had just gotten from my level 1 alt prior.. so my choices are be unable to log until the flag is somehow removed, or give up my name and change it to something else.. something which I am really quite unwilling to do.
BUT IT GETS WORSE. The character I created the GM ticket on, in regards to this issue.. my longtime main, Niia, an 80 draenei priest.. is now also flagged for rename. The ticket was closed, and this character was flagged for rename, and my druid remains flagged as well. What is going on? Today is my birthday, and I want to scream. I'm locked out of not only not only my main, but my alt which i paid $55 to transfer over because of these rename bugs, and a gm who is apparently unwilling to read my ticket in full before making rash decisions like applying random rename tickets to longtime 80s with names who do not in the slightest break any naming rules (niia needs flagged for rename? really?) i dont get it. help please. :/ niia has been on the server and played witrh that name for quite some time, so i dont get what is occuring here..
